Nutrition Services
What We Do
The Nutrition Services Team at the Marion County Public Health Department is dedicated to helping Marion County residents pursue a path to healthy eating. Everyone’s journey to healthy eating looks different, and our team of food and nutrition experts can help you identify what your path is. We can help you find access to affordable nutritious foods, understand how to make good nutrition choices, and teach you foundational cooking skills as well as new tips and ideas to keep healthy eating enjoyable.
Our team is made up of Registered Dietitians, lactation specialists and community health educators — often including students and dietetic interns who we mentor to help advance the field of public health and nutrition. Meet our team

National Nutrition Month is an Annual Campaign sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that reminds us to make informed food choices and develop healthful eating and physical activity habits. Making good nutrition choices can be confusing, so National Nutrition Month also reminds us that Registered Dietitians have licensure and advanced degrees dealing with all things nutrition and are the experts that can help you make sense of the confusion.
